Honestly, women deserve to be celebrated everyday, but we have taken this opportunity to share with you who a few women who inspire the Caiger team – really there are too many to choose from…

Women we are celebrating today, and everyday.

‘I found chef Sophie Pexton last year on instagram & went to one of her supper clubs. I was completely blown away by her food, I want to celebrate her today as I believe she deserves BIG recognition!’

– Dolly, Events Manager

‘Terri Mercieca of Happy Endings London.I did work experience with her, and not only is she an incredibly hard working and bad-ass pastry chef with a shit tonne of amazing experience and willingness to teach and nurture, but she’s also using her platform to champion LGBTQ+ causes and is regularly involved in various bake sales for human rights/environmental disasters’.

-Bella, Head Chef

‘I can’t just choose one this year, so it’s the sisterhood as a whole. If this last year has taught me anything, it’s the power of community, to connect, to inspire, to console with, to help you move you forward. I’m here better and stronger for that support, inspiration and guidance over the last year’.

-Alix Caiger, Founder

‘Clare Smyth is an amazing talented chef who rose up the ranks of Gordon Ramsey’s kitchens and has 3 michelin stars. In a predominantly man’s world, she produces beautiful food using seasonal British produce. When I have the money, I will be heading to Core!’

– Fran, Events Manager

‘I heard Leah Penniman speak last year, as part of a session with Land in Our Names LION. Leah is the Co-Director and Farm Manager of Soul Fire Farm, an educator, author, and food sovereignty activist. Leah supports the collective aims of  LION to address the lack of diversity in farming, discrimination and other barriers faced in the UK.
