Kent House

The Kent House Knightsbridge is one of the most acclaimed luxury event locations in London due to its historical roots and stunning venue options. Built in 1790, the house has an extensive history and was rented by Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, and son of George III. Today, the townhouse is extremely versatile with multiple rooms, allowing guests to truly create a personalised and romantic atmosphere. Most notable for weddings, the Kent House offers the perfect exclusive setting for an elegant and romantic event. The venue is nestled right off Hyde Park and is one of the only surviving townhouses of its kind.

Caiger and Co. catering was asked to put together a wedding menu for two clients that captured a modern British aesthetic while remaining true to the whimsical and romantic nature of the Kent House. The wedding took place on the 10th of October, so seasonal and local sourcing were at the heart of menu creation. The chefs used ingredients from artisan suppliers to ensure that the quality of each dish was superb. A curated selection of dishes created this autumnal three course meal.

To start, guests were served a seasonal squash bruschetta with whipped feta, tahini dressing, toasted seeds, and sumac. For canapes, the menu highlighted “Caiger Classics,” including: butter poached cod fish cakes with saffron aioli and pea shoots, Aubergine skewers with soya crispies, grilled lamb koftas with kefir tzatziki, and beetroot blinis with pea mint puree, smoked salmon and preserved lemon yoghurt. For the main course guests had a choice between a za’tar crusted salmon fillet or tumeric spiced cauliflower steak, both served with a sweet potato puree, red onion, pomegranate, freekah and mixed sprout salad. Three mini desserts were offered to conclude the meal, a sticky fig cake with caramel sauce, mini coffee panna cotta with cardamom and honey crumb, and raspberry blondies.

Caiger and Co. prides itself on fulfilling the clients wishes when it comes to menu creation and execution, but also its ability to reflect the event space and aesthetic through food. The Kent House was a beautiful backdrop for this magical October wedding.
