Whitechapel Gallery
Founded in 1901 with a mission to ‘bring great art to the people of East London’, the Whitechapel Gallery’s beautiful historic building houses 3,600 square metres of beautiful, versatile spaces – from airy studios and brick-exposed Galleries to a purpose-built auditorium. When you walk through our doors, you follow the footsteps of modern masters such as Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Frida Kahlo to pioneering contemporaries such as Zarina Bhimji, Sophie Calle, Theaster Gates, Emily Jacir and Michael Rakowitz, all of whom premiered at the Whitechapel Gallery.
Neighbouring the City and Shoreditch, located right next to Aldgate East Station or just a 10-minute walk away from Liverpool Street Station, the Whitechapel Gallery is equipped with excellent transport links, making it an ideal venue for private and corporate events. We are pleased to open up our versatile spaces to those looking for a unique setting for their evening receptions, dinners, and conferences under the expert support of our dedicated events team. By choosing us as your event venue, you are directly supporting the internationally-recognised work of the Gallery and helping us to enrich the lives of more people through access to contemporary art.
