World Nutella Day
Today is World Nutella Day! Did you know that Nutella was born out of cocoa rationing during World War II. Pastry maker Pietro Ferrero (as in Ferrero Rocher) added hazelnuts and sugar to cocoa to stretch his supply and the beginning of Nutella was born. Another interesting fact: every 2.5 seconds a jar of Nutella is sold somewhere in the world. To put that in perspective a child is born every 8 seconds!
Here at Caiger & Co. we love Nutella or anything chocolate based. One of our favourite chocolate recipes are these brownies which Alix demonstrated at Borough Market back in October, you can view the recipe here. Happy Nutella Day!
