SOCIAL ENTERPRISE

Vibrant, flavourful, elegant

Part of being a sustainable business is looking to the community and society for inspiration, but also to give back.

Our personalised event experience allows us to curate, innovate & design unique occasions, bringing something more to the table.

We work at St Cuthberts our local center for the homeless and disadvantaged once a month to cook a three course dinner for them.

As well as this we are a part of the futures fund for the Young Womens Trust, supporting three women year with coaching and support to get into work. We believe strongly as an all female company, that young women should be given equal opportunities in life.

Sustainability Statement

Our focus takes on three avenues: sourcing, environmental and community. Through focusing on these we can make an impact and have a voice on the issues in the industry. Allowing us to be an advocate for change.

SOURCING

At Caiger & Co. local and seasonal sourcing has always been the main part of our menu ethos.

We will always try our best to celebrate the seasons and source our food from our best local suppliers who value sustainability and quality as we do. Meat and Fish is always sustainable or Red Tractor Approved.

Vegetables are our raison d’etre, we take special care to treat them with as much attention to detail as the meat from sourcing to preparation – expect excitement, not an after thought.

Fair Trade and Organic wherever possible, helping to support global farms and monitor our sourcing of unusual products.

We work with our suppliers to reduce packaging where we can and also receive goods in packaging that can be reused or recycled.

SOCIETY

We believe that society is one of the bigger challenges in sustainability and one that is often overlooked.

Here at Caiger & Co we put it to the forefront. From working with the St Cuthbert’s centre to help use surplus products to help feed those that are homeless and disadvantages. To raising money on our menus for the Feast Fairly camping, whist thinking creatively about our surplus and ‘waste’ products.

We offer balanced menus taking care to look after our guests and clients. Making highlights of nutritious and seasonal ingredients.

ENVIRONMENT

At Caiger & Co. we take care to look after our waste before, during and after our events.

We Recycle our food waste, glass and tin, cardboard and old used oil.

We manage our leftovers and waste products as well, preserving left overs, fermenting cabbage, creating powders from herb stems.

We have signed-up the Evening Standards Last Straw campaign, and now only serve paper straws at events. We don’t buy items in plastic bottles, expect glass and cans only at our events!

Transport – we offset our carbon emission with Forest Credits for the Rainforest Concern, taking into consideration all of our deliveries throughout the year.
