Event Tips

With a record for the hottest day in February to date, I’m sure this unusual dose of warm weather has a lot of us thinking – why not plan a summer party? Whether this is a corporate affair or something more intimate, there’s a lot of things to think about in the run up to an event and it’s difficult to know where to begin…so, from us here at Caiger and Co, here are some top planning tips from our experienced team:

In the few months a year that the sun does decide to shine, it is important that we make the most of it, so why not treat your friends and family to a blow-out BBQ banquet. We’re talking big Asado grills with tasty cuts of meat, slow-cooked over burning coals, huge platters of brightly coloured salads and to top it all off, a build your own Eton mess stand. These Argentinian barbeques add something a little different and help to bring a rustic feel to outdoor events. When picking your side dishes, try to incorporate seasonality, not only will the produce taste better, this is a much more environmentally-friendly way on entertaining. All the menus we create for our clients are tailored specifically to their desires whilst also being as seasonal as possible!

The next thing to think about would be the drinks. I’m sure you’ll agree most events will offer a standard bar of fizz, wine, spirits and mixers. So why not jazz it up a little and get creative with some bespoke cocktails. Whether this might be serving something a bit unusual to complement an overall all theme or setting up a styled station with kilner jars of espresso martini mix.

Moving on to styling… there a lot of ways you can stand out from the crowd, but what we tend to find that less is more. Long rustic top trestle tables and folding wooden chairs will help to create a more relaxed feel to the day, which can be decorated with glass bottles of wild flowers or some simple green foliage running down the middle. Having less garish table decorations also allows you room to be a bit more artistic when picking your crockery, copper cutlery and earthenware plates are always a popular combination!

So, whatever your reason for throwing a party, we would be delighted to help you’re your vision come alive!
